Jacqueline Crowell, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Jackie learned about physical therapy while in health class when she was 14. Four years later, she began working in the field that perfectly combined her athletic background and desire to help others. Jackie holds a bachelor’s in health science pre-physical therapy from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia, and a doctorate in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia.

Jackie has experience in treating spinal disorders, upper and lower extremity, and women’s health issues. She continues to further her knowledge and general orthopedic skills. Currently, Jackie is pursuing a certification in manual therapy through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars. When not at work, Jackie enjoys pilates, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family.

 

JANEEN GRAY, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

While running cross-country in high school, Janeen realized her amazement with the human body and its incredible ability to adapt to whatever stressors are thrown at it. Since then she’s wanted to work to improve people’s lives. A career in physical therapy excited Janeen at that time and she leaped at the opportunity to pursue this as her chosen vehicle to help people live healthier, happier lives.

Janeen earned a bachelor of science in kinesiology and a minor in nutrition from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo while working for a local physical therapy clinic. She then earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in physical therapy from the University of San Francisco and San Francisco State University’s joint program in physical therapy. Janeen believes that patient education is fundamental in physical rehabilitation yet she combines this with her exceptional manual therapy and therapeutic exercise skills to achieve optimal long-term solutions with her patients. Janeen is passionate about continually developing as a clinician and pursues regular continuing education coursework to ensure that her patients are getting the best from her.

Janeen continues to pursue her passion for running, but now prefers longer distances, having run multiple marathons and qualifying for Boston. She also enjoys spending her free time cycling, hiking, skiing, and travelling around the world.

 

 

Barry Gordon, PT, DPT 

 Physical Therapist

Barry Gordon has a passion to understand and help people. In high school he developed a strong aspiration to learn about and treat the body, which led him to graduate summa cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in pre-physical therapy in 2008 and magna cum laude with his master’s degree in physical therapy in 2010 at California State University, Fresno. He spent the following year earning his doctorate degree in physical therapy from University of California, San Francisco while simultaneously working in an outpatient physical therapy clinic as a physical therapist. In 2011, he joined BreakThrough Physical Therapy. Barry continues to take advantage of educational opportunities as it is critical for him to advance his skills and ensure that he is always able to provide the very best for his patients. While Barry has a special interest manual therapy, he believes that patient education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and therapeutic modalities are all critical components of quality physical therapy care. In his spare time, Barry enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer and tennis, as well as playing guitar and drums. 

 

Stacey Harper, MScPT

Physical Therapist

Stacey's educational experience instilled in her the belief that health care professionals must be responsive to the changing needs of their patients, receptive to novel treatment approaches and technological advances, and accountable for providing quality care. Stacey is deeply committed to delivering patient-focused care and openly communicates with patients to establish goals, maximize their capabilities and achieve successful outcomes. Stacey holds a bachelor's in kinesiology from the University of Alberta in Alberta, Canada and a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. Her comprehensive treatment approach combines active listening, manual therapy, individualized exercise programs and patient education. Outside of her professional life, Stacey is an avid skier and enjoys squash, yoga, and travel.

 

Irina Khait, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Irina began working in an orthopedic setting since 2008 after earning her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Southern California. She also holds a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science from the University of San Francisco. Irina believes in educating and promoting healthy lifestyles using therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy procedures. She has experience with fall prevention, balance disorders, and strength training for seniors. She is fluent in Russian and able to communicate in Spanish. Irina's puppy Leia fills most of her free time. She also enjoys hiking, biking, and running with Team In Training.

 

Leeanne Knaus, PT

Physical Therapist

For 20 years, Leeanne ran her own outpatient orthopedic clinic in San Mateo, treating a wide variety of conditions. In 2006 she decided to re-focus her efforts on direct patient care. Leeanne earned a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981 but never stopped learning, actively continuing to educate herself in regard to osteopathic approaches to physical therapy. Leeanne specializes in evaluating treatment of neck, back, temperomandibular joint pain, and post-mastectomy patients. She has extensive experience in manual therapy and sports medicine and is certified in augmented soft tissue mobilization, or ASTYM, for the treatment of soft tissue restrictions. An avid golfer, Leeanne particularly enjoys working to rehabilitate injured golfers. Her long history with physical therapy gives Leeanne the unique ability to understand a patient first through evaluation and learning of his or her history and goals. Next, Leeanne educates her patient in all aspects of the diagnosis and treatments before applying a variety of manual therapy and neuromuscular re-education skills, and then prescribing a progressive personalized exercise program designed to maximize the patient's function.

Leeanne likes to spend her free time with family, hiking, and getting involved with her church and other community outreach organizations.

 

Sahana Krishnamurthy, PT, MSPT

Physical Therapist

Sahana Krishnamurthy was introduced to physical therapy by a family friend in the profession. A brief apprenticeship made it clear that this was the career in which she would thrive. In 2007, Sahana earned her bachelor's in physical therapy from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India. In 2009, she earned her master's of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, which greatly broadened her knowledge in orthopedic manual therapy. Sahana has worked in fall prevention programs, balance training and stroke rehabilitation for geriatric patients during her tenure as a therapist at a nursing facility in Indianapolis. She now loves the challenges of treating in the outpatient, orthopedic setting. Sahana continuously seeks further training to ensure that her patients always benefit from current research. She believes in teaming up with her patients so that each patient's individual treatment plan is geared towards reaching their specific rehabilitation goals. She also believes in patient education and awareness in the treatment and prevention of various kinds of disorders. Away from work, Sahana enjoys swimming, singing, dancing and hiking in the redwoods of the Bay Area with her family.

 

Jeanette Krogstad, PT

Physical Therapist

Jeanette brings over 15 years of hands-on experience to her physical therapy practice. She earned her bachelor of science degree in physical therapy in 1992 from the California State University at Fresno and earned a physical therapy license the following year. Since 1993, Jeanette has worked in a variety of settings throughout Santa Clara County such as outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and acute care. She offers a wide variety of treatment options customized to each patient thanks to taking advantage of extensive educational opportunities in areas like manual physical therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, pelvic girdle treatment, lower extremity biomechanics, thoracic outlet syndrome, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, and dynamic stabilization.

Jeanette believes patients reach their maximum potential by utilizing manual therapy and therapeutic instruction combined with an independent home program. When not designing customized physical therapy programs, Jeanette likes to keep active with Pilates, hiking, biking, and skiing. In addition, she is active in her family's church and school communities.

 

Charmaine Mamaril, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Charmaine knew she wanted to be a physical therapist since high school. Volunteering with physical therapists at both the VA Palo Alto and a local outpatient clinic confirmed this desire. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in biology and kinesiology from Whittier College in 2005, she went on to graduate as a doctor of physical therapy from the University of Southern California in 2008. Charmaine has practiced in an outpatient orthopedic setting since.  She joined the BreakThrough Team to provide a better overall experience for her patients in 2011. She believes in patient education and the use of evidence-based practice to help patients attain their functional goals.

In her spare time, Charmaine enjoys being with her family, exploring the outdoors, swimming, surfing, snowboarding, hiking and camping. 

 

Adrian Masoni, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Adrian’s interest in physical rehabilitation grew while obtaining his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of California at Berkeley. In 2008, Adrian earned a doctorate degree from Samuel Merritt University in physical therapy. Adrian honed his manual therapy skills while working in an outpatient orthopedic setting in the San Diego area before returning home to Northern California. He joined the BreakThrough team in 2011. 

Adrian is experienced with a large breadth of diagnoses, including spinal disorders and impairments of the upper and lower extremities. Regardless of a patient’s age or skill level, Adrian believes the best results are achieved by combining manual therapy, exercise for strength and stability, and a high level of patient education.  

When away from work, Adrian enjoys a large variety of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, and hanging out with his dog Riley.

 

Katherine "Kathy" Tsobanoudis, PT, MPT

Physical Therapist

Katherine Tsobanoudis began her pursuit of physical therapy after many years of playing a wide variety of sports. Remaining healthy and physically active is a personal goal and a goal she hopes to instill in others. She understands the mechanics of human movement and being able to positively identify weak points for treatment is rewarding to her as a clinician. Katherine believes in order to recover from an injury a person must understand how they arrived there, so education and injury prevention are large components of treatment. She utilizes evidence-based research as it is critical to providing the best manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises to ensure the most functional outcomes.

Katherine graduated with her bachelor's of science degree in kinesiology from California State University, Sacramento in 2007. Her concentration was in exercise science, with an emphasis on therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation. She then completed the master's of physical therapy program at California State University, Sacramento in 2010. Katherine strives to provide her patients with the tools they need to return to the activities they enjoy. Outside of work, Katherine jogs and cycles often, loves playing volleyball and taking her dog Emerson on long walks.
