Biography: Stephen F. Osborn, M.D. is one of a very few doctors in the country to have both a Basic Surgery Residency, as well as a Orthopedic Residency. He has further distinguished himself by completing both a Total Joint Fellowship (in Dallas, Texas, under the direction of William Head, M.D., one of the very first Total Joint Specialists in the country), and a Knee and Sports Medicine Fellowship (in Long Beach, Ca., under the direction of Douglas Jackson, M.D., one of the world's leading Knee and Sports Medicine Specialists). Dr. Osborn was one of the first Orthopedists in Northern Ca. to perform knee, ankle, elbow, and shoulder arthroscopy. As a result, he has an Orthopedic practice emphasizing shoulder, knee and athletic injuries. Dr. Osborn's surgical practice includes complex knee and shoulder reconstructions. He does major ligament reconstruction, such as ACL reconstructions in the knee. He does Rotator Cuff and Labral Repair in the shoulder. He continues to practice the latest legitimate advances in Total Knee and Total Hip Replacement. In his office practice, Dr. Osborn feels strongly that patients deserve the time necessary for a thorough history and physical examination, a credible diagnosis, and a full discussion of their problems. Because of his personal background in multiple competitive sports (swimming, track, bicycling, and skiing), he sees and treats a lot of athletics injuries, including those from team sports, as well as individual sports. Dr. Osborn is currently evaluating new advances in the areas of tissue regeneration (Biologics), and further advances in the treatment of athletes injuries and joint replacement.
