Biography:
Dr. Koenigsberg graduated the University of Miami in Coral Gables Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry. He then attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA. After graduating he completed a surgical residency program in foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Koenigsberg established the Remington Podiatry Group in 1975 and it has grown over the years to its current size of three Podiatrists and five support staff. He has kept up with the latest in medical technology and innovation.
Being an active athlete, Dr. Koenigsberg has always been interested in treating fellow athletes and has sub-specialized in Podiatric sports medicine since beginning his practice. Dr. Koenigsberg is an avid alpine skier, and snow boarder. He keeps in shape for those and many other activities by maintaining a regimen of running, biking and weight training. He has obtained additional training in occupational medicine and became a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the State of California in order to offer the injured workers the best possible care for their foot and ankle injuries.
The philosophy he developed in treating his patients with athletic injuries dovetails into the occupational arena. That being, he tries to get the athlete and or the injured worker back to their chosen sport or job in the quickest and most efficacious manor.
Dr. Koenigsberg is on active staff at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA. where he has served as Chief of the Department of Podiatry a number of times and is active on committees at the hospital and El Camino Surgery center.
The demographics of his practice are 30% pediatrics, 30% geriatrics, 60% ages 18-65. The types of problems he treats include: soft tissue pathology such as infections of skin and nails, diabetic and vascular ulcerations and bone infections; sprains, strains and fractures and other injuries of the foot and ankle, plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammer toes, nerve tumors, arthritis.
At Remington Podiatry, they work hand in hand with other specialties such as orthopedics, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, internal medicine, dermatology, rheumatology, endocrinology, and emergency medicine.
