Levator Ani Syndrome Physical Therapy

Download Physical Therapy E-paper

Learn how to reduce pain and resume an active life.

The levator ani is a group of muscles located deep in the pelvic floor. These muscles help to elevate the pelvic floor and anal sphincter. A spasm of these muscles is called Levator Ani Syndrome and can cause pain with sitting, constipation, bowel movement pain and low back pain. Physical therapists who specialize in the pelvic floor are experts at treating this condition. Treatment will include soft tissue mobilization, exercises to stretch and relax the levator muscles and retraining of these muscles.

You do not need to suffer from the discomfort of levator ani syndrome. Physical therapy can help alleviate the pain and get you back to a normal life. To ensure your comfort and privacy, all Pelvic Floor treatments are held in our Private Treatment Rooms.
