Learn how to reduce pain and resume an active life.

Urge incontinence is often called overactive bladder, unstable bladder, spasmodic bladder, detrusor instability, and or detrusor hyperreflexia. With urge incontinence, the bladder contracts at inappropriate times. This can occur in women and men for different reasons however the symptoms are the same: frequent urination, loss of urine unintentionally, and a sudden, strong need to urinate.

A study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (March 18, 2008) reports that pelvic floor muscle training, in conjunction with bladder training, resolved the symptoms of urinary incontinence in women. The study included 96 randomized controlled trials and 3 systematic reviews from 1990 through 2007.
