Learn how to reduce pain and resume an active life.

Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is also called Painful Bladder Syndrome (PBS). It is a chronic inflammation of the bladder wall. IC often causes many symptoms and can be debilitating. IC is often misunderstood and therefore incompletely treated. Because the pelvic floor muscles control the bladder, those suffering from IC frequently have dysfunction of their pelvic floor due to muscle guarding and change in bladder habits. Another limiting factor of IC is the involvement of adhesions of the connective tissue in the pelvis. Physical therapy can help you retrain your bladder, reduce pain, and maximize the function of your pelvic floor.

To ensure your comfort and privacy, all Pelvic Floor treatments are held in our Private Treatment Rooms. Please call (408) 736-7600 to schedule an appointment with one of our women’s health and pelvic floor specialists.
