Niyati’s keen interest in medicine dates back to her childhood; seeing and listening to her grandfather, a noted physician, regaling her with stories of some of the wonders of medicine. Niyati zeroed in on Physical Therapy (PT) as the career option she was most passionate about after her mother’s recovery through PT, following a severe fall. She pursued her masters in PT at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to moving to California and joining BreakThrough, she worked at various clinics across New York City and was also associated with the Hospital of Special Surgeries.
Niyati finds it rewarding and enriching when results are evident with challenging cases. She believes in treating any injury with a holistic approach, by treating the root clause of the condition and not only the existing symptoms. Fitness as a whole is the aim. Whilst she enjoys treating all orthopedic conditions and fall prevention patients including post operative or neurological conditions, her forte is chronic postural issues, mechanical pains and conditions related to the spine, knee and shoulder, as well as patients with sports related injuries.
Niyati enjoys sports including tennis, basketball and taekwando. She loves to travel and learn about diverse cultures and cuisines. Running is also her passion.
