RUCHIRA KAMAT, PT, MHS, CMPT, FMS-C

Ruchira developed her interest in physical therapy after seeing a neighborhood child with Cerebral Palsy undergo rehabilitation. Motivated by the enduring bonds that she saw develop between the patient and her therapist, she enrolled and graduated with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy from the Maharashtra University of Health sciences, India. After working as an outpatient provider and pursuing internship with a manual therapist from Australia, she moved on to the US where she earned her Masters in Health Sciences with an emphasis on Orthopedics from the University of Indianapolis. She then worked at a skilled nursing facility in Michigan, helping individuals with balance disorders achieve functional independence. Prior to her joining BreakThrough, she practiced for over three years in a dynamic outpatient orthopedic setting in Greenfield, Indiana which broadened her horizons in the field of manual therapy and the study of various movement impairment patterns.

She has constantly kept herself updated by taking continued education courses in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Movement System Impairment, Cervico-thoracic dysfunction, muscle energy techniques (MET) for rib dysfunction and Maitland techniques for joint mobilization. This has helped her tremendously in achieving great results for all her patients. Ruchira strongly believes in a compassionate approach at restoring a patient’s quality of life above and beyond their expectations and likes her treatment to be customized and specific to each individual’s needs. She is fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi.

In her spare time Ruchira enjoys biking, hiking, painting, decorating cakes, writing blogs and short stories.
