Learn how to reduce pain and resume an active life.

Motor vehicle accidents are way too common these days.  A split-second lapse of concentration and BAM!

Motor Vehicle Accident MVAAt BreakThrough Physical Therapy, we understand the pain and hassle involved with even the simplest fender bender.  For that reason, our CareTeam will ask the necessary questions to best help you determine if this will be the right place for you.  Our goal is to ensure that you return to your desired quality of life as quickly as possible in a warm, caring and family oriented environment.

Should you require physical therapy as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, our entire Team is well equipped to help you throughout the process.  Our Physical Therapy Team has extensive experience in helping those injured in an MVA.  Of course whiplash and low back pain are the most common injury/complaints people report to physical therapy with after a motor vehicle accident.  Typically rest and ice as well as oral anti-inflammatories seem to be the best for the first 24-72 hours, but for more severe injuries, consultation with your medical doctor or visiting the ER for evaluation may be required.

Once you are through the initial 72 hours, if pain persists and you have not consulted a physician, this may be the time to do so.  Your doctor(s) will be able to evaluate you and determine if they feel you would benefit from physical therapy.

*Please note that due to the complex nature of some claims as well as our desire to provide our patients with the highest level of service, we must evaluate each potential new patient on a case by case basis.  For more information on our processes, please proceed to our Physical Therapy “Patients” page.

  • As a result of our experience with motor vehicle accidents and the other associated hassles involved, we have prepared a convenient MVA Incident Report Form for you to keep in your glove compartment in the case of an accident.  Having a few copies of this and asking the others to use it creates an easy exchange of information when you are in shock and not thinking at your best!  We hope you don’t need it, but that you have it handy in case you do!
