Learn how to reduce pain and resume an active life.

Proctalgia Fugax is defined as a spasm of the levator ani muscles. The spasm can be mild to excruciating and last for seconds to minutes. We realize the pain you may be experiencing can be debilitating, causing fear of leaving the house or sitting down. SITZ baths can be helpful along with physical therapy. Direct treatment to the pelvic floor can fully alleviate the pain of proctalgia fugax. We will instruct you on a home exercise program and provide the manual therapy you need to be able to freely sit and sleep without fear of an episode.

To ensure your comfort and privacy, all Pelvic Floor treatments are held in our Private Treatment Rooms. Please call (408) 736-7600 to schedule an appointment with one of our women’s health and pelvic floor specialists. We look forward to helping you find the relief you deserve from Proctalgia Fugax and/or other related pelvic floor dysfunction.
