NATHAN “NATE” MORLA, PT, DPT

Nathan is a first-generation Filipino American and graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles.
During this time, he worked towards his dream of pursing a profession in the healthcare field due to his
passion for biology and desire to help others. Along the way he found an interest in physical therapy and
received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Nate obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston
University (BU), Sargent College. His educational training emphasized learning how to analyze movement,
apply evidence-based practice and address biopsychosocial factors that can influence an individual’s
experience(s).

In addition to finishing his didactic work at BU, Nathan completed his clinical training in various settings which
included hospital-based outpatient, inpatient and occupational medicine practices; however, most of his
training has primarily been in outpatient orthopedic settings where he received guidance from mentors who
have positively influenced his practice as a clinician. Through these experiences, he also became proficient in
patient education, manual therapy (STM/IASTM, joint mobilization/MWM/HVLA) and exercise prescription.

Nate has had the privilege of working with disparate populations throughout his time practicing including
individuals of all ages, athletes, workers, people from different socioeconomic status / cultural backgrounds,
as well as individuals who present with different musculoskeletal conditions.
He enjoys breaking down then optimizing movement patterns through modifying interventions that can help
individuals who present with orthopedic and sports-related injuries return to their specific activities.

As a physical therapist, Nathan’s goals include: 1) To listen and collaborate with his clients because he values
shared-decision making. 2) To provide individualized treatment plans. 3) To help improve patient outcomes
through evidence-based practice and outcome assessment.

In his free time, Nate cherishes hanging out with his family, friends and kitty, and traveling to new cities. He is
also a food / coffee / boba enthusiast and appreciates finding the latest trendy food places. To stay active, he
likes to work out and hike along the California coast; however, to decompress, Nathan loves to watch anime,
sports highlights, as well as binge Shark Tank.
